The room on the other hand was not so great.
My girlfriend and myself made reservations this past Wednesday and was told first night would be complimentary and second night at $99 would most likely be complimentary but we would need to check an Friday morning. Otherwise, MGM is a very nice casino and is fun for gamers at all levels. Hopefully, MGM reads reviews and will address this issue by boosting their ventillation system or establish a smoke-free zone on the casino floor. Wow, in 2011, there's not a non-smoking section on the casino floor!! Casinos in Vegas, Atlantic City, Florida, Biloxi, Bahamas and on and on, have designated non-smoking gaming sections. It's a well-lit and spacious casino but sadly the places stinks of cigarette smoke, its everywhere and you can't escape it! I'm a gamer and can cope with the smoke most times but it was so thick that I asked if there was a 'no smoking' section and was told there wasn't any. Waitresses were hard to find but friendly. The casino floor offers a large variety of slot machine types and denominations but gaming tables seemed oddly placed and limited availability. Security is posted at the front entrance, giving one the sense of well-being. The main entrance is open and contemporary glamour in decor.
Valets greet you upon arrival and open your car door.nice touch. Of the casino options in Detroit, the MGM is by far the nicest.
